Dr. Green, known around town simply as “Doc” is originally from Bastrop, LA. Following graduation from LSU’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 1991, he worked in NW Iowa for 4 years in a clinic that treated mostly livestock with some companion animals. Doc then moved to Arkansas and practiced for an additional 13 years in 3 other mixed animal clinics before founding the Alma Animal Clinic in 2008.
Aside from his veterinary medical care for your animals, both big and small, Doc also has a passion for promoting the education of youth in agriculture and animal husbandry. He does his best to support all manner of such, including local 4-H clubs, FFA chapters and the Crawford County Fair. In recognition of his efforts, Doc has been named an Honorary FFA Member of both the Mountainburg High School and Alma High School Chapters.
Doc has always enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening in his spare time. He has recently added raising Fullblood Aberdeen Cattle and Registered Berkshire pigs to his list of hobbies.

Nicole Stec Phillips
ASSOCIATE VETERINARIAN
#fhtogglels/Read Full Bio/Close/ib
Dr. Stec, a Fort Smith native, received her B.S. in Animal Science with an emphasis on Animal Biotechnology at Oklahoma State University. While there she was captain of the OSU NCAA Equestrian Team. She then went on to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Oklahoma State in 2010 where she was a Phi Zeta inductee. She married Dr. Zac Phillips in 2011 - she still goes by her maiden name at work to avoid confusion but will answer to (*most*) anything!
Dr. Stec practiced in Missouri and Greenwood, AR. In 2018 she moved to Alma Animal Clinic part-time in addition to providing travel relief services for other facilities. Relief work has exposed Dr. Stec to a variety of clinics and styles of medicine, as well as engendered her love for the veterinary community. She currently provides emergency and critical care relief shifts for large referral facilities where she works directly with specialists on cases. She loves bringing these experiences and acquired knowledge to Alma’s beloved pets.
Dr. Stec's caseload primarily includes small animals, reptiles, and small mammals. Some of her special interests include pain management, ultrasound, soft tissue surgery, rehabilitation therapies, and critical care. She is committed to lifelong learning to provide modern, holistic care for her patients.
When not chauffeuring her children, she enjoys spending time at the barn and showing hunter/jumpers. She owns two Irish Sport Horses – Tipperary and Tyrconnell. Her son and daughter lease a saintly pony. Their family also have a crazy Boykin Spaniel, two cats, and Dr. Phillips’ beef cattle. She enjoys church and attempting to garden. Their active kids keep her and Dr. Phillips on their toes.
